Introduction
Congratulations! Your company has pushed ahead of the pack and is now ensuring the security of your network with two factor authentication. That is, enforcing your users to use not only the standard username and password, but a second authentication form that cannot be obtained by hackers. This is referred to within the IT Industry as two factor authentication.
Consulting IT will have sent you an automated email, and this guide will show you how to setup your first mobile device for authentication use.
Stepping Through The Setup
Within the email you have received from Duo Security, please click the setup link on a computer or a device other than the mobile you want to setup this authentication on.
Clicking the link, you will be taken step by step through setting up your new Duo account.
Click Start setup and on the next screen select your device:
When prompted, enter your mobile number and when the checkbox appears, confirm your number is correct and click Continue.
Select the correct model of your mobile device and click Continue:
On your mobile device, open your app store/play store and install the "Duo Mobile" app.
Once this has been installed, click the "I have Duo Mobile installed"
Within your mobile app, press the + button at the top right of the app. This may ask you for permission to access your camera, click Allow.
On the next screen you will be presented with a QR code - hold your phone up to the screen, capturing the QR code within the display on the phone. Once this is positioned correctly, the setup will automatically continue.
Once completed, your phones screen will change back to the normal Duo display, and you will see a green check mark within the onscreen setup window. In addition, the continue button will now be clickable.
Click Finish Enrollment to complete your device setup! You can now access any services that require Duo MultiFactor Authentication.
