365 Email - OWA - Open an additional/shared inbox from Web Access

Overview

If your mail is hosted within Office 365, you have the ability to access all other additional mailboxes and systems via the Web Access (OWA) just like you can within the Outlook client.

This is only supported for Office 365 accounts - hosted or on-premise Exchange systems do not support this functionallity.

Accessing Additional Mailboxes in OWA

1. Browse to https://outlook.office365.com in your preferred web browser and login with your Microsoft 365 account.

2. Right-click on the "Folders" folder and select "add shared folder"

3. Type the email address of the inbox you have permissions to and select the corresponding inbox from the drop-down list. Once selected, click OK.

Note: If the email address you are typing does not appear within the search, this means this is hidden from view and cannot be accessed in this manner.

4. Once you have clicked OK, the mailbox will now show up underneath the "Folders".

You can expand this, just as you would within Outlook, and this will give you full access to this inbox.

This mailbox will remain added to your OWA session from this point onwards, allowing you access to this additional mailbox whenever you use the Microsoft 365 OWA portal.
