Microsoft Edge
Open Microsoft Edge
Select the options button in the top right and click settings
Click "Import Browser Data"
Select the browser you want to import your settings from in the drop-down and then click import at the bottom of the pop-up box.
Google Chrome
Open up the newly installed Google Chrome and click the Settings icon:
Hover over Bookmarks, and click "Import bookmarks and settings".
From the dropdown option, select your old browser and click Import.
This will show all your bookmarks within a folder called "Imported From [Old Browser]" and opening this will show you all your bookmarks.
Google Chrome - Moving the Bookmarks out of the Folder
To restore your bookmark bar to how you are used to seeing it, you will need to move the bookmarks from the "Imported From" folder.
You can either do this by clicking and dragging the bookmarks from the sub folder onto the bar, but if you have a large number this may take a while.
Instead, click the settings Icon again, hover over Bookmarks and select "Bookmark Manager"
Click into the sub folder and click the first entry.
Press and hold shift on your keyboard, and select the last entry - this will select all of the bookmarks at once.
Click on any of the selected entries and holding down the mouse button, drag these onto the "Bookmarks Bar" folder. All the bookmarks will now display on your bookmarks bar as previous.
Firefox
Open the newly installed Firefox Browser and click the Library Icon (as indicated below).
Select "Bookmarks" from the first menu, and then click "Show All Bookmarks" from the second menu.
Click "Import and Backup" and select "Import Data from Another Browser"
Select your browser from the options and click next.
Click Next through the following box and then click finish.
These bookmarks will now show up within the "Bookmarks Menu" menu, within a sub folder named after your old browser.
Firefox - Moving the Bookmarks out of the Folder
To put these bookmarks onto your bookmarks bar, open the listed folder to view your bookmarks.
If there are multiple, click on the first entry.
Press and hold shift on your keyboard, and select the last entry - this will select all of the bookmarks at once.
Click on any of the selected entries and holding down the mouse button, drag these onto the "Bookmarks Toolbar" folder. All the bookmarks will now display on your bookmarks bar as previous.
Internet Explorer (only applicable moving from Chrome)
Open up Internet Explorer and click on the "Star" button.
Using the drop-down menu on "Add to favorites" select "Import and export"
When prompted, select "Import from another browser" and click next.
Select your browser from the list, noting that if your browser is not present you will need to follow the manual method listed below.
Click next and then Finish.
Your bookmarks will automatically be imported to your bookmarks bar.
Manual Export Method
If you are unable to import your bookmarks using the above methods, you will instead need to manually export the bookmarks from your old browser, and then import these.
First, open your old browser and access its primary bookmark settings (as listed above for all major browsers).
Once within the bookmark settings page, select "Export Bookmarks":

Chrome:
Internet Explorer:
Save the file to your desktop with a name you will recognise.

Internet Explorer:
Following along with each browsers options, select the file you saved to your desktop when prompted for a file and click Next.
